For most of the beginning of my adult life, when I made music, I thought of myself as a musician. Then I gave it up 15 years ago. I was an okay musician, but I was never a particularly good sound engineer. Getting an idea from my head into a finished recording was always the difficult part.

AI has changed that.

Today I can work with musicianship and production quality far beyond what I could create on my own. That has allowed me to concentrate on something I've discovered I enjoy much more: producing.

I decide what we're trying to create. I develop the concepts, help shape the material, participate in the lyrics, choose what works, reject what doesn't, edit if necessary, and ultimately decide when a record is finished. And since I think iteratively there may be updates along the way.

I've realized that this is the role I want.

So I've decided I'm done making music as a musician even though I had planned on returning to it this year. I'm not planning to pick up the guitar again and try to become a better performer or recording engineer. AI can do those jobs extraordinarily well, and I'm happy to let it.

I now have produced four AI albums in a few months that I am extremely happy with. For comparision, it took me around 10 months to make 12 songs in my old band Ao Tau.

I hope you like the AI music as much as I do. There will be updates along the way. The title for our new album will be changing back to the original Metaltechnica.

More albums are in the works. We are currently working on our Punk album, Stations of the Crassica. And we have plans to make a Rap album called the Streets of Euphorica and a Trance album called Tranceformica.

I just can't believe how quickly we can make this stuff now. It is mind blowing.
